This blog contains the mails I sent to my friends about my experiences at SNU and the “Land of the Morning Calm”. The views expressd here are purely personal…
Below I will describe a li’l about me
Now I’ll start from the very beginning. I completed my pre-schooling from Sishya Nursery in Ayyanthole, Thrissur. Through my parents’ and grandparents’ words, I still have vague memories of a Quiet me! (Yeah thats right.. non-talkative, for those who got what I meant…) 🙂 Then I joined Kendriya Vidyalaya, Puranattukara, Thrissur for my 1st to 3rd grades. I was a decent performer in the classes and I for one, loved maths.
As my dad, who was working in State Bank of India, got a transfer to Trivandrum, I did my schooling for 4th standard in Kendriya Vidyalaya, Pattom, Trivandrum, The capital of Kerala. The next year, I returned to my Alma Mater Kendriya Vidyalaya, Puranattukara and Completed my 10th grade from there. Then I joined Prof. P.C. Thomas Classes in Thrissur, which is very famous all through Kerala and stayed in his strict hostel for the next two years (Though my home was just 5km away, but now I understand why I was sent there). There I led a systematic life (probably the ONLY time in my lif so far :)..) in a Godly atmosphere and I evolved myself a lot better after the two years.
I did my 11th and 12th from Bharatiya Vidya Bhavan, Poochatty,Thrissur. It was the most enjoyable Period of my life time before the college. I was a prefect in the school and made lots and lots of good friends. After my 12th grade, I left my home, and went to Hyderabad to join International Institute Of Information Technology, For B.Tech. Degree in Electronics And Communication Engineering. During my undergraduate Studies, I used to play for the IIIT Basketball team and and I also used to play guitar for Insomnia, a Hyderabad based Rock Band. For a list of the major concerts I have played in, Click Here.
Post my Undergraduate Studies with honors in VLSI and Embedded Systems, very unexpectedly, I came as a Samsung Global Scholarship Program Scholar to Seoul National University to pursue my M.S. in EECS Department and I work in the Multimedia and Wireless Networking Lab under Dr. Sunghyun Choi.
I think this shift to Korea is the best thing that could have happened to me as I am impressed with the greatness but humility of the Koreans. I am continually learning a lot from my daily life here. I hope to imbibe some of the characteristics into my life and now here I am writing about me, for you……..If you wanna know more about me, Google Kiran Tharanath or Kiran T. Nath (no need of “” quotations) and for any comments/questions.. drop in a mail to firstname.lastname@example.org. You might also want to visit my Photo Album @ Picasa Web Gallery
